Celebrate Our Heroes at the 2024 Veterans Day Parade & Heroes Luncheon
Veterans Day is a special time to honor the 19.5 million American heroes who have bravely served in the U.S. military. This year, join the West Sacramento Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8762 in commemorating these valiant individuals at the annual Veterans Day Parade and Heroes Luncheon.

west sacramento veterans day paradeMark your calendars for November 11th! The festivities will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a delicious pancake breakfast hosted by Boy Scouts of America Troop 49 at the parade staging area at 1100 Clarendon St. This hearty breakfast is the perfect way to fuel up for the day ahead, whether you’re a parade participant or a spectator.

At 11 a.m., the parade will kick off from Clarendon Street, journeying through Westacre Road and Park Boulevard before culminating at the corner of Stone and Deerwood streets. Last year, we saw a fantastic turnout of 550 spectators and over 100 vehicles, including trucks, boats, and floats. This year promises to be even more spectacular!

Midway through the parade, don’t miss the vendor area at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 1500 Park Blvd., where you can warm up with coffee, hot chocolate, muffins, and cookies. It’s a great spot to take a break and enjoy the festivities with friends and family.

heroes lunchAfter the parade, head over to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8762 at 905 Drever St. for the Heroes Lunch. Starting at noon, the lunch is free for veterans (please bring your ID) and only $12 per plate for others. Enjoy delicious food, live jazz music, and a welcoming atmosphere as we celebrate our heroes. The bar will also be open until sold out, so grab a drink and toast to our veterans.

“This event is to showcase our local veterans and let the community honor those who have given so much to our country,” says Post Commander Leo Alatorre. “It’s a great way for the community to honor, respect, and highlight those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Join us for a day of remembrance, celebration, and community spirit. We look forward to seeing you there!
