44th Annual Fair Oaks Chicken Run!
Mark your calendars and lace up your running shoes—Old Fair Oaks is gearing up for the 44th annual Fair Oaks Chicken Run! This beloved community event, happening on May 4, 2025, isn’t just a race; it’s a celebration of fitness, fun, and supporting a great cause: the San Juan Education Foundation. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a family-friendly outing, there’s something for everyone at this egg-citing event.
Pick Your Race
The Chicken Run offers three fantastic options to suit all ages and abilities:
• The Chicken Run (5 Miles): Ready to tackle a challenge? This 5-mile course is a hard-boiled adventure that winds through the picturesque residential streets of Old Fair Oaks and along the scenic Sailor Bar trail. With a mix of paved roads and trails—not to mention those infamous hills—this race will test your stamina. Keep your sunny side up and watch your step as you go!
• The Rooster Ramble (2 Miles): If you prefer a more laid-back vibe, the 2-mile Rooster Ramble is the perfect over-easy option. This stroller- and family-friendly course sticks to paved roads, making it ideal for walkers, casual runners, or anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of Old Fair Oaks at a leisurely pace. You might even feel a little “runny” by the end!
• Chicken Chase Kids Race: For the little ones (12 and under), the Chicken Chase is the highlight of the day. Led by the legendary Fair Oaks Chicken, this wild and wacky kids’ race is a free-range blast that’ll have your peeps clucking with joy. It’s hands-down the best kids’ race around!
Perks for All Participants
No matter which race you choose, you’ll walk (or run) away with some fantastic goodies:
• A high-quality tri-blend event shirt (crew neck) to show off your Chicken Run pride.
• A commemorative finisher medal to celebrate your achievement.
• Free race photos to capture the fun.
• A refreshing root beer float to cool down.
