California Museum: Guitars at Meeting of the Music!

We’re rolling out the red carpet for guitar enthusiasts, music lovers, dads, grads, and everyone in between to celebrate our newest exhibit, “America at the Crossroads: The Guitar and a Changing Nation.”

This is more than just an event; it’s a full-on guitar extravaganza! Kick off your Father’s Day weekend with live performances from guitar maestros Michael Sallstrom, Dinorah Klingler, and Ian Santillano. These talented artists will serenade you with their unique styles, creating the perfect soundtrack for an unforgettable afternoon.

But wait, there’s more! DJ Tiny will be spinning tunes to keep the vibe lively. If all this music makes you thirsty, don’t worry – we’ve got beer for purchase, with discounts for our awesome Museum members! And if you’re feeling peckish, Chavious pop-up is serving up some delicious pizza.

Feeling crafty? Dive into our guitar-themed crafts! Create your own guitar picks and bring a 1″x1″ printed photo of someone or something you love to customize them. Kids will love the coloring sheets, making it a fun activity for the whole family.

One of the highlights of the day will be the guitar-making demo by the renowned Santa Cruz Guitar Company. See how these beautiful instruments are crafted and maybe even pick up some tips for your next DIY project!
