Rock & Roll Holiday Magic: A Christmas Carol Panto at City Theatre
Get ready to rock your way into the holidays with a new spin on a classic tale! A Christmas Carol, The Rock & Roll Panto is taking the stage at City Theatre, blending the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge with the high-energy beats of 1980s rock and hair band music. Since 2007, City Theatre has delighted audiences with their British-style “Panto” productions, offering an irreverent twist on beloved fairy tales, legends, and now Dickens’ iconic holiday story.
This year’s panto, written by Christine Nicholson and Luther Hanson, and directed by Lori Ann DeLappe-Grondin and Nicholson, is an interactive, family-friendly spectacle where the audience becomes part of the show. Expect classic characters like Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim to rock the stage with plenty of laughs, over-the-top costumes, and classic ‘80s tunes. The spirit of the holidays meets rock & roll in a performance you won’t forget!
Running from November 22 through December 15 at Sacramento City College’s Art Court Theatre, this is a holiday event designed to bring joy to all ages. Get ready to sing, clap, and maybe even shout as Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas in true rock-and-roll style. Grab your tickets now and don’t miss out on this fun-filled holiday tradition with a Sacramento twist!
