This summer, the Bard returns to the park—and he’s bringing plenty of wit with him.
Take Note Troupe presents Much Ado About Nothing, one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, performed al fresco in three charming Northern California locations: Fair Oaks, Folsom, and Rocklin. With performances from May 28 through June 7, this free Shakespeare in the Park experience is the perfect way to enjoy an evening of clever banter, tangled romance, and sunlit mischief.
At the heart of this timeless tale are two very different love stories: the battle of wits (and hearts) between the ever-sparring Beatrice and Benedick, and the tender, more traditional romance between Hero and Claudio—thrown into chaos by a villain’s lie. With themes of love, honor, deception, and forgiveness, Much Ado walks the perfect line between laugh-out-loud comedy and heartfelt drama.
Take Note Troupe is known for bringing Shakespeare to life with accessibility and flair, delighting both Shakespeare enthusiasts and first-time viewers. These open-air performances blend classic language with contemporary energy—making this production ideal for families, date nights, or anyone craving a night of cultural charm under the stars.
Performance Schedule:
• May 28–29: Fair Oaks Park Baseball Diamond
• May 30–31: Historic Zittel Family Amphitheater, Folsom
• June 5–7: Quarry Park Amphitheater, Rocklin
Admission is free. Laughter is guaranteed. Bring a picnic blanket, your favorite snacks, and a friend—or a few—and let Take Note Troupe treat you to an evening of Much Ado about everything that matters.
